Employee was opening a strainer on [REDACTED] melter when hot liquid sprayed onto the right lower leg.

On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] myself was doing my daily rounds for as the recovery end checking al my strainers from 5-3-11 and 5-3-10 melters on the 3rf floor Pan House when I shut off the pump to 5-3-21 pump and both discharge valve so I can clean the strainers once I took the cap off halfway the sweet wat.er from 5-3-10 started to burst out quickly due to the discharge safety valve closed to where that water was still flowing through that line and burst onto my lower legs I was always GMP equipped.

2nd degree burns to thighs.
