Loading Furnace #2 with aluminum

On [REDACTED] a foundry employee was loading furnace #2 with aluminum ingots using a metal container and a forklift. While loading the metal into the cart the employee got off the forklift to adjust the cart by hand. Unfortunately the forklift moved crushing the employee’s hand between the forklift’s mast and the control panel. The employee was taken to the clinic for evaluation where they were prescribed work restrictions making this a recordable injury.
