Before the incident
Position reposition patient; I was standing and patient was laying in bed. I did raise the bed up.
What happened
I was frequently helping reposition and rolling a patient (max assist patient who couldn 't help) in bed from side to side to place a bed pan and clean him up as he had diarrhea and was overall uncomfortable. Patient was very tall (6 '7) and heavy. I alwa ys had someone else helping me but the last time I had to hold my patient while rolling him I felt a pulling sensation in the back of my right shoulder. The [REDACTED] I was in excruciating upper back pain toward the right side. I thought taking some Ibu profen and a using a heating pad would provide relief in a few days but the pain started progressing down my right arm and my right anterior shoulder. Now I have some tingling in my right fingers. I took care of that same patient again with the same nee ds on [REDACTED].
