Before the incident

Trying to push a 900lb roll of plastic back onto the pallet it was half off of.

What happened

A single rollstock was staged on a pallet on the floor under the racking. An employee was getting ready to pull it out to place it on a spindle and take to the line for use. The banding was previously removed while staging it for use. The injured employee requested a co-worker pull the pallet out with a forklift while they observed it from behind as it was leaning slightly off the back of the pallet. The injured employee stabilized the roll with their body while it was pulled out. After it was pulled out the injured employee attempted to manually manipulate the roll back onto the pallet and that’s when the roll fell smashing the fingers on the left hand between the injured employee’s body and the rollstock.
