Troubleshooting can jams

Cans started jamming on [REDACTED]. 2 Mechanics started troubleshooting machinery. Employee A started jogging the machine for Mandrel unjamming and Employee B started troubleshooting the solenoid infeed bolt for alignment adjustment. Employee B’s left pinky was caught between the opening near the infeed solenoid bolt. A large Laceration was immediately noted. Employee was seen at the ER and was transferred to another facility. Employee has two broken bones in left pinky and a partial crush on the middle bone. Will follow up with a specialist for further treatment. Employee B stated that he tried to communicate with Employee A that he was reaching in but that he must not have heard him over the machinery. Employee B also stated that he (EB) should have made sure the machine was fully stopped before proceeding.
