Before the incident

EE was working on a compressed aid line behind the Stranders area This line was being put in place to supply an airline to a Chopper machine thats being installed EE was given instructions on how to proceed with operations on cutting the line It was verified that the air valve was closed EE was informed to cut the existing pipe and advised to remove a 90degree elbow It was determined that the line was not closed due to faulty threading on the shut off handle Due to the line still being open the pressure caused the ball valve to act as a projectile striking the EE in the face and chin area The area that they were intending to extend this line was approximately 2530 feet
