Before the incident
RN assisted patient in room 5448 to stand and sit on a bedside commonde. Patient was very weak an not supporting her weight causing the RN to carry the weight. Slight strain felt during this episode. Then her daughter asked for a warm blanket which RN went and got and while placing the blanket on the patient the RN back jolted with intense pain and caused RN to almost fall into the bed. Her daughter noticed this and asked if I was alright. for the rmainder of the shift RN continued working with high level of discomfort. Overnight even with muslce relaxers and nsaids and rest the pain and tightness increased in intensity.
