Before the incident
a Maintenance Tech was in the process of clearing a cap jam in the TEC cap vacuum pipe system. Team member was removing a pipe clamp coupling in doing so the coupling slip from the team members grasp and his natural instinct was to try to catch it.
What happened
In doing so the coupling struck the team members wrist from the straight edge side of the coupling causing a severe laceration.
