Before the incident
Walking between two totes while holding a battery box shell.
What happened
An employee was walking from weld booth #3 through the fabrication department to the Lincoln machine carrying a [REDACTED] shell (variation N10-1338-200). Two totes were staged at the entrance of the Lincoln machine limiting the clearance to approximately 26 inches. As the employee attempted to walk between the two totes the [REDACTED] shell made contact against the tote applying force towards the employee. This resulted in the edge of the [REDACTED] shell cutting through the employee 's welding gloves. The employee received a laceration to the right hand near the index finger and middle finger.
