Employee was riveting two links together using a Orbital Riveter. When holding the two items together under the riveting tool the worker cycled the machine using the foot pedal then the workers finger slipped into the line of fire prior to the tool coming down and cycling in which the riveting tool caused a crushing injury puncture wound fracture on the phalanx and contusion of the right index finger with damage to the nail.
