Employee called reporting that he injured his LEFT ankle while pulling a mixed item pallet at Wal-Mart Epping ([REDACTED]). While stepping backwards he rolled his left ankle and heard a pop. Employee was advised to seek medical attention at urgent care nearby. Employee stated two to supervisors that he has had issues with his left ankle for all his life. He has advised us that he has broken his growth plate in his left foot. While filling out employee statement he stated that he has sprained his left ankle numerous times. Supervisor inquired what he was wearing for safety shoes at the time of injury. Employee stated that he was wearing sneaking. I informed the employee of the shoe policy and handed him a paper copy of the policy. I also showed him how to order work shoes off the website.
