RN attempting to re-access a port needle struck side of port hub. RN activated needle safety shield while withdrawing needle. Safety did not fully engage and needle stick occurred to RN 's R pinky finger. Safety appropriately engaged with difficulty and removed to sharps bin. [REDACTED] left safely in bed and RN washed hands thoroughly and notified House Supervisor Monta of needle stick. Appropriate labs drawn.
