Before the incident
The operator was prepping the line for the start of the day. She was using a hoist to place engine blocks on the conveyor line for assembly.
What happened
As the operator was lifting an engine block to place it on the conveyor line the lifting device became twisted allowing the block to fall to the floor. As the engine block fell it struck the back of the operator 's left hand causing a laceration.
