What happened
2nd shift cell leader reported he cut his left hand below the thumb area while attempting to remove a short shot grape crate that was stuck in between the mold. Employee stated he was using a vice grip to remove the part. The vice grip gave way during his attempt to remove the stuck part causing his hand to rub across a piece of the grape crates bottom which had a sharp piece of plastic that had broken off and was sticking outward. The plastic was sharp enough that it went through his cotton gloves causing a laceration. He was sent to our occupational health care center and received stitches for treatment. No time lost.
