Before the incident
Employee pulled the scrap belt key to enter the section in between the die cut section and the beater belts to catch a sheet for strike box check (quality task) When they were coming out of the area to grab the setup box their elbow went back too far and was caught by rollers in the beater belt section pulling their arm into the machinery Employee shouted for someone to hit the estop which another employee was able to do right away Maintenance was able to loosen the drive side bolts to drop the lower roll to release his arm EMTs were called to the site for additional evaluation and the employee was transported to a nearby ER for additional treatment Before leaving the site the employee was able to move their arm and hand without any issues or problems
