What happened

On [REDACTED] an associate was performing replenishment tasks when they noticed a muriatic acid spill in bin BP-057-A. Upon spotting the spill the associate promptly contacted the coordinator for Emergency Response Team (ERT) assistance. To ensure safety the associate parked their lift to block off the aisle preventing others from entering the affected area until the ERT arrived. The associate reported that they maintained a minimum distance of 5 feet from the spill while waiting for the ERT. Once the ERT arrived the associate left the area. [REDACTED] the associate experienced slight roughness in their throat which subsided shortly after. However around [REDACTED] the associate began experiencing severe eye pain and difficulty breathing. Members of the ERT immediately responded by flushing the associate�s eyes for 20 minutes.
