Handling wire
What happened
Wire broke so line went down and some wire came off the accumulator sheaves. Since the line was down the take-up operator opened the door to the accumulator to place wire back on the sheaves. TM entered the enclosure and was wrapping the wire. The had their left hand on top of the sheaves and were looking down and to the right when the accumulator started to rise. Their left hand was caught under the last wrap of wire and they jerked their hand free. TM was treated with RICE and ART and after 8 weeks requested medical treatment. They were diagnosed with a partially healed fracture to the distal phalange.
