Sitting around a firepit with colleagues discussing the off site training they had that morning. During a training session the 11 participants including myself (supervisor) gathered around a campfire for dinner. As we prepared to rest for the [REDACTED] training the following day employee attempted to rise from a deep lawn chair.

Employee lost her balance during the process. I was seated next to employee and witnessed her fall toward me. In her attempt to prevent the fall she reached out with her left hand nearly touching the fire and then switched to her right hand which grazed the edge of the fire ring - likely making contact with the metal. Employee ultimately landed on my feet and we promptly assisted her in getting back up. The entire incident unfolded in less than five seconds.

Burnt skin on her fingers and palms. Burnt skin on her fingers and palms.

Firepit

1st and 2nd degree burns on both Hands from fall trip into edge of firepit.
