Injured employee was at the glass bottle forming machine conducting troubleshooting of a manufacturing process which had caused a quality defect.

Injured employee was observing the forming machine while it was still operating to determine plunger temperature and function during the forming process. The employee was resting his hands on the guard on the front side of the section then moved to the left side to gain a better view. While moving to the left the employee inadvertently placed his left hand onto the anti-deflection bracket where it became pinched by the hanger arm.
