What happened
On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] EE was changing the blade on a self-retracting utility knife. After changing the blade and tightening the screw the blade reportedly jammed and would not extend. To free the blade the EE put his right hand over the end of the hand and used his left thumb to apply pressure to the actuator. While doing so the blade released and punctured his right ring finger at the joint where the finger meets the hand. 2 EEs responded and administered first aid by applying guaze to stop the bleeding
