Maintenance

3 Maintenance technicians were replacing the transfer to BIB conveyor BELT. EE was in the process of staging the belt onto the portable cart. A pillow block bearing was removed so that the rolled-up belt could be placed onto the support bar. The tech raised the bar upward away from the flange and placed the belt onto the bar. The edge of the belt was now resting on the flange bearing mount. The Maintenance technician was holding onto the bar with his left hand while tapping the end of the bar with his right hand. The belt slid off the edge of the flange while the Technician was using a hammer to tap the bar back into the opposite side pillow block bearing. The weight of the belt forced the bar down onto the Technician left pinky finger smashing against to the frame.
