crossing irrigation canal using a plank

Mr. [REDACTED] was using an aged board as a plank to cross from one side of the irrigation ditch to the other. This is a common method utilized in agriculture farming however the board being used was inadequate to support his weight which caused it to “snap” in two as he was crossing resulting in a fall of approximately 2ft 8inches to the bottom of the ditch. Mr. [REDACTED] suffered two fractures to his lower left leg between the knee and ankle.
