Before the incident
cutting the coil with reciprocating saw
What happened
Press operator was cutting the coil using a reciprocating saw. The saw blade got stuck when the coil pinched it and did not cut all the way through. Operator removed the reciprocating saw and blade from the coil. He then used a steel pipe to strike the coil in hopes of breaking the coil into two pieces. The coil broke apart and the pipe continued downward and struck the operator in the right shin causing a cut puncture.
