Employee was cleaning grinding debris from the coil grind line preparing to replace a pump.

Employee was tasked with changing a hydraulic cylinder on Grinder #8 at the coil grind line. With the machine locked out and cover removed the employee was using an air wad to clear all of the grindings and debris from the area so he could access the cylinder and make the appropriate repairs. While standing on the grinder the employee stepped back onto the drip pan which is very thin gauge material not meant for holding any weight and fell to the floor.

The injury was a concussion fractured right wrist and contusions to his right hip.

The fall and the floor caused the injuries.
