I was in decon washing back a case I was placing a hand wash item into the pass through window I sprayed the item with rubbing alcohol I did not notice that the window was partially open There was an item blocking the window from fully closing and it was not alarming Due to the window being slightly open and theair pressures negative in decon positive in assembly the alcohol mist blew back at me and got into my eyes I was wearing my full PPE Including a mask and shield however the air flow caused the mist to go around my shield and into my eyes The eye wash station in the ER is not over the sink and had to be heldsideways The pressure was also too high I was unable to use it I felt like I was being water boarded The ER ended up using lenses to flush my eyesAdditionally the pass through window should be alarming if it isnt completely closed
