Before the incident
As we were lifting this patient she was not assisting whatsoever after multiple times to the bedside commode and not having any help from the patient I suggested to the RN that we could use the bedpan since the patient isnt assisting with lifting and its straining my back the RN informed me that the patient is wheelchair bound at baseline I then proceeded to let the RN know bed pan should be used if the patient is wheelchair bound no just super tight back cant twist or turn fully and have shooting pain down my back
