Before the incident
Employee was attempting change out an empty propane bottle on a forklift.
What happened
Employee was notified by a customer that the propane bottle containing propane used to fuel a forklift was empty. During the process of exchanging the empty bottle with a full bottle the employee 's bare hand was exposed to propane gas venting from the nearly empty bottle. This action caused redness to the employee 's skin and temporary numbness.
