Before the incident
Employee was kneeling on the canning room floor attempting to adjust and work on the 9oz. seamer for the canning line.
What happened
The employee was attempting to stand up onto the floor from the kneeling position. The canning room floor had some water on it resulting in a slipping of the employees footing as he attempted to stand from the kneeling position; resulting in his knee twisting awkwardly.
Injury or illness
The initial injury was diagnosed as a strain to the back of the employees left knee. Further evaluation showed a torn ligament which later resulted in restrictive work and days away.
Object or substance involved
Amounts of water and oil mixture on the brick floor of the canning room were contributing factors.
