Before the incident
The employee was removing an installed steel beam from the erected structure from inside a boom lift basket at the 2nd level of steel of the 3rd level structure.
What happened
While working from the basket of the boom lift the employee disconnected the steel beam from the clip connection that was suspended by synthetic strap rigging attached to a high reach forklift. The end of the steel beam contacted the employee 's hand pinching the fingers between the beam and the vertical clip connection at the stationary steel connecting member the beam was attached to. The employee was wearing PPE.
