Before the incident
Performing duties on the patch line. They were descending the steps to get the lay-up tag needed to process a new unit.
What happened
After receiving the tag the EE was ascending the steps did not maintain three points of contact lost balance and fell onto the platform. The EE contacted platform with right knee and as the EE attempted to break fall middle finger of left hand went through the floor grate.
