Before the incident
EE was removing the sifter lid for Dryer #9.
What happened
Three employees were in the process of transferring a metal lid using manual chain hoist to place it onto a cart. While they were adjusting its position one employee placed their hand between the hoist hook and the handle. During this maneuver the lid shifted unexpectedly pinching the employee’s finger between the two components. As they instinctively pulled their hand away a laceration occurred at the tip of their left ring finger.
