Before the incident
The planer became clogged with sawdust and needed to be cleared. The EE used an air hose to blow out the planer.
What happened
EE shut off the planer and began clearing sawdust before the head stopped spinning. The spinning head caught the blower nozzle causing the EE 's hand to jerk into the planer.

EE sustained an open fracture at the tip of the left thumb above the knuckle. The thumb is intact but badly broken.
