Operator reported setting up for a product transfer on [REDACTED] in the [REDACTED] pit. Reports tripping on some equipment left in the area and twisting his back while trying to catch his fall. Operator reported muscle spasms at area that seemed to be the lower left side. Also reported being unable to sit. Somehow got himself up to the filter desk area. Remained there until transport could be arranged. Unclear if operator actually hit floor of pit or was able to catch himself. Did not report any other injuries other than back. Area has a level surface but lots of obstacles.
