Preparing to change the fuse on an MCC panel

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a Processing Electrical Technician suffered injuries from an [REDACTED] incident. The Electrical Technician was preparing to replace a fuse in an MCC panel by throwing the disconnect when the disconnect (handle) became jammed. The handle was in a position that allowed the panel door to open but the MCC panel was not deenergized because the knives were still engaged. The Electrical Technician opened the door and used a screwdriver to attempt to unjam the linkage of the handle to fully deenergize the panel. Before the Electrical Technician could unjam the handle the screwdriver slipped and contacted a live lead causing the system to arc.
