Employee was operating a valve trailer hose to locate a water main leak. He was handling the hose and connector assembly while working in the roadway at the job site.

During operation of valve trailer hose the securing pin on the hose connector did not lock properly and became loose. As employee was handling the hose his right finger was pinched between connecting components resulting in injury.

Crush pinch injury to the tip index finger with comminuted fracture of the distal phalanx resulting in swelling pain limited mobility.
