Before the incident
Associate noticed a material jam and was working to unjam the material
What happened
To unjam material associate turned off conveyor and was moving conveyor in the opposite direction to clear the jam. While doing this activity a new hire (being trained) reached up to help move the conveyor and caused the original associate to get a finger pinched between the metal conveyor and a safety plate.
