What happened
RN was doing Lovenox education with parents. All parties involved had gloves on. Parent went to administer injection and got scared so she pulled back after poking patient. RN was trying to maneuver and help and got stuck in the finger by the needle while it was still in the parent 's hand. Small bleeding from poke. RN completed the injection with a new needle and immediately sanitized and washed hands with soap and water. RN told charge and house supervisor about the incident and protocols were completed per policy.
