Security was requested by nursing staff after the patient was released from restraints on the stretcher and began exhibiting agitated behavior including attempting to strike a wall. Verbal de-escalation attempts were made; however the patient refused to comply. The patient turned toward me and began swinging his arms striking me on the back and ribs. During the scuffle Manager was bitten by the patient on his right arm resulting in visible bleeding.
