Before the incident I was in our ultrasound workroom
What happened
I was doing a portable echocardiogram on a 410 pound patient in the CCU. Patient was unable to move get into optimal position for the echocardiogram. I had to stand and hold my arm in a suboptimal and poor ergonomic way in order to scan the patient. While scanning my shoulder suddenly had sharp pains and started to hurt with the pressure and awkward position I was forced to be in in order to obtain the images required. I finished scanning the patient in pain and have been hurting ever since.
