Attempting to bend contaminated needle in vacutainer to be straight
What happened
This nurse was grabbing UA. Urine was already collected in the blue lid [REDACTED] Vacutainer urine collection. The yellow tube was collected prior with no problem then the gray tube would not flow properly. This nurse poked her right thumb on the blue [REDACTED] Vacutainer. This nurse removed glove there is no evident of blood right away. Until pressure was applied in thumb. This nurse immediately washed hand under running water with soap while applying pressure to right thumb to bleed out. This nurse notified charge nurse [REDACTED]. Charge nurse notified House Sup. House Sup notified charge nurse wash hand and go to ED. This nurse took about 30 minutes to go to ED.
