What happened
Lightning struck the jet bridge while our aircraft was attached to the jet bridge with the aircraft door was open during a weather delay. The incident took place approximately 45–60 minutes after we completed boarding. At the time of the strike I and another crew member were standing in the forward galley within 5 feet of the open aircraft door leading to the jet bridge. Immediately following the strike I experienced sudden hearing loss and went completely deaf for approximately two minutes. After my hearing partially returned it remained decreased for the rest of the evening.
