What happened
I was lead flight attendant for the trip to [REDACTED] and as soon as we got into the air and the chimes indicating we can get up and start our service I got up to get my [REDACTED] to read my service announcement. When going to sit back down [REDACTED] got up at the same time. I went to grab the jumpseat to push it back down and at the same time it was springing back up catching my thumb with it. It immediately started hurting and turning red followed by swelling.
