What happened
was using a rag to swab the casing of an impeller. While swabbing in a clockwise direction the rag had gotten imbedded between the housing and fins. At this time I began trying to unplug the stuck rag in a counterclockwise direction. With my left hand pulling on the rag I use my right hand to apply pressure on the fins in a safe position. When the rag broke free my hand slipped and got caught between the fin and housing causing my right pointer finger to be pinched
