What happened
EE was assigned to unload baggage from the cargo bin of an aircraft. Another employee observed that EE appeared to be experiencing signs of heat-related distress and promptly notified the shift supervisor. In response the supervisor instructed EE to rest and cool down in the baggage claim area. While en route to the designated rest area EE tripped over a passenger’s luggage that was in his walking path. He was unable to get up unassisted and was helped to his feet by a fellow employee. EE stated that he did not see the luggage and reported experiencing pain in his hip.
