What happened
Team member [REDACTED] had asked if I would get an IV on a patient that she attempted to get an IV on twice I went over to the IV table got the blood work on the patient when I went to clean up the iv tray [REDACTED] had used with gloves on I got stuck in the palm of my hand with a used needle from the patient she attempted to get the iv on . Not only was there one used needle but there was two. When I went to clean up the tray I did not see the needles under all the trash that was on the tray. [REDACTED] the RN in triage witnessed me getting stuck in the hand. After it happened I washed my hand off really good and reported it to charge [REDACTED] RN my director [REDACTED].
