Opened home cage for a pair of rats to weigh them before beginning their protocol.

As soon as I grabbed the rat in question it bit my finger and was not letting go while thrashing. After it did I had to grab it again to return it safely to the cage. It then bit the base of my finger knuckle and scratched my hand with its claws.

Bites and scratch from rat to right finger

rat teeth and fingernails

While lifting rat out of cage it immediately bit EE 's right finger and then again when regrasping it the rat bit EE 's right knuckle area and clawed right hand.
