Employee was opening plastic wrap 12-pack jar cases using an orange safety knife.

The employee stated that while opening the cases to remove the jars he inadvertently positioned his hand incorrectly. As he used the safety knife to cut the plastic wrap around the jars his index finger was exposed and sustained an injury during the motion of opening the finished goods.

The employee sustained a laceration to the tip of the index finger near the fingernail. The employee remained alert able to walk and communicate clearly and appeared to be experiencing mild pain.
