Before the incident
X-RAY ON TRAUMA PATIENT IN THE Emergency Room
What happened
I was doing an x-ray for a 911 trauma and when inserting the x-ray board under the patient 's chest from the left side of patient where an RN was drawing blood from for the patient 's chest x-ray. I felt a pinprick sensation on my left pinky. I looked down and noticed a little blood on the outside of the glove where I felt the pinprick sensation. I took off the glove and inspected the inside and noticed a little blood as well. I did not notice blood on my finger after taking off the glove. I used hand sanitizer and completed the exam with a fresh set of gloves. After the exam I washed my hands thoroughly and notified the house supervisor [REDACTED] and the Radiology Director [REDACTED]. I am unsure of exactly what would have caused that sensation during the 911 trauma a lot was going on so I was unable to inspect the area when it happened. I 'm filling out this vigilanz report being over-cautious incase I did get nicked by something and need to be tested etc. Thank you!
