Pushing patient bed

I was transporting a patient from their room to MRI which required taking the patient 's bed down the ramp from ED to MRI. At the first turn the bed would not steer and veered toward the facing wall. I corrected the direction of movement and stopped the bed to avoid jarring the patient. The gear pedal was confirmed to be in steer position. Controlling the bed as it moved down and unexpectedly sideways caused pain in my left leg. I finished taking the patient to MRI and moved on to my next assignment. The injury became increasingly apparent as time passed.
