Drawing an ABG on a pt

I was in room 6207 trying to obtain an abg from the ventilated patients arterial line the line is on the patients left radial and the port was very close to the patients wrist when the needle was in the port and drawing the blood the patient began to get agitated and aggressively started to move his left arm at that point the needle came out of the port and i poked my left index finger that was giving support and stability to the port at the time of the needle stick i immediately removed my glove i squeeze the site and washed it very well i then reported the incident to my supervisor
